The Golf Course at Little Bennett Golf Course first opened for play in 1994. The course was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan.
Little Bennett Golf Course sits at the north end of Little Bennett Regional Park and offers several scenic views of Sugarloaf Mountain. This scenic course was built on hilly terrain, so expect uneven lies. The fairways become narrower as the round progresses because the tree lines get thicker. The greens are medium-sized and undulating. There is a pond that comes into play on one hole. The signature hole is #6, a 149-yard, par 3, requiring a downhill tee shot over a creek to the green.
Little Bennett Golf Course plays to 6,706 yards from the Blue tees. The course rating is 73.2 and the slope rating is 137. Par for the course is 72.

Played here 5-21-09, and fortunately, saw none of the adverse issues that the previous reviewer encountered. I sympathize with her.
Course is very difficult, and is NOT walkable. We played White tees, sloped at 129, and they could have been 139. Design is excellent: uses the hilly terrain to full advantage, and no two holes look alike, or run parallel. A fair amount of water and environmental areas, minimal sand, except around greens. Greens are VERY tough. All are large, all are sloped (sometimes VERY subtly) and a few are extremely heavily contoured (#4, for example). Today the greens were very firm, and in 18 holes, with four golfers, we were able to get enough spin to stop the ball ONE TIME!
Staff in the pro shop was competent and welcoming, the older lady in the snack bar when we arrived was terrific! Similarly, the young woman who was there when we finished was very pleasant and professional.
Pace of play was quite slow. As a foursome, we waved two or three twosomes through, then ended up waiting for them shot after shot. We moved as quickly as the group ahead allowed, and still took 5+ hours. No Ranger anywhere to be seen.
Overall, this is a wonderful course, but it is tough and should not be underestimated. It is also a bit off the beaten track, so make sure you have good directions (or GPS) to find it. Good luck!

Little Bennett Golf Course has lost me as a customer and ambassador of good will.
I am sick and tired of pro shops putting out a walk on 4-some on a Saturday ahead of a group of women because they think we play slow. My group waited 20 minutes on every hole while guys searched the bushes for that elusive Pro V1. We called the shop 3 times from the course to have someone expedite play....they did nothing. One guy in front of us took 11 practice swings....geez.
The maintenance crew was out mowing and watering every where. They would stand behind us waiting to mow a tee box while their mowers idled. We asked them to turn them off and they said they could not. What a waste of time.
Also, no beverage cart on the course...said they were short staffed, but a lot of young men who worked at the course were speeding all over the course in carts.
Shame on the staff and management of Lake Bennett. While they were taking good care of the course, they were taking lousy care of the customers. What should have been a great day of golf was instead a bad and frustrating experience. I will not go back.

Love this course; challenging but fair; very difficult greens if on high side of the hole; traps could use some new sand.
